When you are clocked in (active clocking), the app shows everything expected of you during the shift: the tasks to complete, the checklist to fill in, the tools to declare and, if needed, photos to take. These items only appear during a clocking, because they are tied to the ongoing shift.

Completing your tasks

If tasks are linked to your shift, they appear in the details of your clocking. For each task, you can indicate the start and the end of its completion. You can also add a task that was not planned, by choosing it from your department's task list.

A task that has been started must be finished before you can close your clocking: at check-out, the app prevents you from validating as long as a task remains open. This ensures that the time spent on each task is recorded correctly.

Filling in your checklist

Some companies attach a checklist to the shift (opening, closing, hygiene control, etc.). It appears during the clocking and is filled in as you go. Depending on the control points defined, an item may ask you to:

  • tick a box (done / not done) or answer yes / no;
  • enter text or a number;
  • take a photo as proof.

Your answers are saved as you go. When a checklist is attached to a clocking, it must be completed before check-out: this is a blocking step, so keep it in mind before leaving your post.

Declaring your tools

If your company tracks equipment, you can select the tools used during the shift and indicate their quantity. This declaration is attached to the clocking and saved at check-out.

Taking photos

The app lets you take photos during the clocking (for example to justify a task or a control). They stay attached to your clocking and are sent when you close it.

Scanning a QR code

When your company uses QR codes, the app may ask you to scan one when clocking or to identify a tool. The scan is done through the camera, directly in the app.

All these steps take place during the clocking. To learn how to start and close a clocking (check-in, breaks, check-out), refer to the dedicated article on clocking with Shyfter Staff.
