Chat with the in-app messaging

Talk with your colleagues and managers in real time from Shyfter Staff: conversations, attachments, groups and contacts.

The built-in messaging lets you communicate with the team directly in the app, without using personal numbers or another application. Exchanges are in real time, tied to your company, and stay within a professional setting.

The conversation list

The conversations screen shows all your discussion threads. Each row shows the avatar, the conversation title, the last message exchanged, the time and a badge indicating the number of unread messages. A badge also appears on the messaging tab as long as some conversations contain unread messages.

Chatting in a conversation

Open a conversation to read the messages, grouped by day. Your messages appear in green, those of others in grey. A "new" marker flags the first unread message. You can send:

  • text (links and phone numbers become clickable);
  • an image;
  • a file;
  • a voice message recorded from the app.

Messages appear instantly and are marked as read as soon as you open the conversation.

Creating a conversation

From the list, you can start a new conversation by selecting one or more colleagues from your company. This creates a one-to-one or group discussion.

Managing a group

In a group conversation, the creator can rename it, change its photo, add or remove members and delete it. Each member can leave the conversation at any time. The details screen also shows the members online and all the shared files.

Contacts

The Contacts tab lists the people in your company you can reach. When a phone number is filled in and shared, it is clickable to call directly.

Messaging is part of a professional setting: stay courteous and keep in mind everyone's right to disconnect. Conversations are visible to their members only.
