Set up your recruitment stages

Rename your stages, change their order and their colour, and designate the entry, hired and rejected ones.

Your stages are the columns your candidates move through. They are set up in Team → Recruitment → Configuration → Stages.

A default pipeline already exists: you can use it as it is, or adapt it to the way you recruit.

Add or edit a stage

Click Add stage, or click an existing stage to edit it. The panel offers:

  • Stage name: the title of the column.
  • Color: the colour of the column on the stages board.
  • Stage role: Standard, Hired or Rejected.
  • Entry stage: tick the box so that new applications land here.
  • Requires a scorecard to move on: a candidate can only leave this stage once they have been rated.

To change the order of the stages, drag them. To take one out, use Remove stage.

The role of a stage

This is the most important setting, because it changes what happens when a candidate arrives there:

  • Standard: an ordinary working stage.
  • Hired: arriving here opens the creation of the candidate's Shyfter account. One "Hired" stage per pipeline only.
  • Rejected: arriving here opens the rejection window, with the reason and the email to the candidate. One "Rejected" stage per pipeline only.

Two other roles exist, set by the default pipeline and not editable: the interview stage, which opens the scheduling window, and the trial stage, which opens the trial proposal. In both cases, it is sending the proposal that moves the card.

Several pipelines

You can create several pipelines with New pipeline: the journey of a head waiter is not that of a student on an extra shift. Each pipeline has its name, its Active switch and, for one of them, the Default pipeline box.

A candidate can only be moved to a stage of their own pipeline. If you see the message "Couldn't move this candidate to that stage", it is because it belongs to another pipeline.
