Customise your application form

Add your own questions to the form, choose their type and translate them.

The application form already asks for the standard details: name, contact details, address, spoken languages, availability, CV, photo and video. You can add your own questions to it, the ones that save you a back and forth on every application.

This is set up in Team → Recruitment → Configuration → Application form. The questions you add there appear everywhere: on your careers page as well as on the form opened by a QR code.

Add a question

Click Add field, then fill in:

  • Label: what applicants see on the form.
  • Type: Text, Paragraph, Email, Phone, Number, Dropdown, Multi-select, Checkbox, Date or File upload.
  • Options (one per line): only for a dropdown or a multi-select.
  • Placeholder and Help text: optional, to guide the candidate.
  • Field key: an internal identifier, invisible to candidates.

The shortcuts

The Add suggested button offers common questions you can add in one click:

  • "How many years of experience do you have?"
  • "What is your earliest start date?"
  • "Are you available to work on weekends?"

Required, visible and order

The table shows one row per question, with two switches:

  • Required: the candidate cannot send their application without answering it.
  • Visible: untick to take a question off the form temporarily without deleting it.

To change the order of the questions, drag a row up or down by its handle.

Translate your questions

Your questions are shown exactly as you write them. So that a Dutch-speaking or English-speaking candidate reads them in their own language, open the Translations of the question and enter the label for each language. Without a translation, the base text is displayed.

Where to read the answers

The answers appear on the candidate record, Overview tab, in the Form answers block.

A well-chosen question replaces a phone call: ask about availability, certificates or languages at the time of the application rather than after.
