Schedule notifications: reminders before shifts

What this screen is for

This screen is used to create shift alerts: automatic reminders sent to your employees a certain amount of time before their shift starts. It is a good way to reduce no-shows and lateness, without having to notify everyone manually.

Go to Settings ⚙️ → Schedules → Notifications.

Create a shift alert

Under Shift alert management, click Add a shift alert. A window opens where you enter:

• The value: the number of days or hours before the shift.
• The unit: day(s) or hour(s).

Confirm. The alert is added to the list shown just below, in the form "Alert X day(s) before" or "Alert X hour(s) before".

You can create several alerts for the same shift, for example a reminder the day before (1 day before) and a reminder on the day itself (2 hours before). Each alert in the list can be deleted by clicking the cross next to it.

Good to know

These alerts concern reminders before shifts start. Notifications related to schedule publishing, shift modifications, or requests (leave, swaps) are managed elsewhere: each employee sets their own channels (email, push) in their notification preferences, and shift swap alerts are configured in Settings ⚙️ → Schedules → Shift Swap.

Alerts are received through the Shyfter Staff app. Your employees must have the app installed and notifications allowed on their phone to receive them.
