Adding or renewing the Dimona certificate

Shyfter sends your Dimona declarations to the social security using an electronic certificate. Here is how to register it in Chaman, then finalise its activation with our teams.

To send your Dimona declarations to the Belgian social security, Shyfter uses an electronic certificate. It is what secures the exchanges between Shyfter and the social security.

This certificate has a limited lifetime: it is renewed every three years. Shyfter anticipates that renewal for you and sends you the new certificate. On your side, all that remains is to register it in Chaman, the social security service for managing technical channels, then to finalise its activation with our teams.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • The new certificate previously sent to you by Shyfter.
  • Access to the social security portal, authorised to manage the technical channels of your company.
  • Your usual login method, for example itsme.

Renewing an existing certificate? Keep the old certificate until the Shyfter technical team has checked the new one and confirmed that the Dimona exchanges work properly.

1. Log in to the social security portal

  1. Go to socialsecurity.be.
  2. In the Belgium column, click Enterprise.
  3. Click Log in, at the top right.
  4. Log in with your usual method. itsme is the simplest one.
  5. Select the company for which you want to configure the Dimona exchanges.

2. Open Chaman

  1. In the portal main menu, click Online services.
  2. In the Direct access field, type Chaman, then click Go.
  3. On the Chaman page, click Manage your technical channels.

You then reach the list of channels configured for your company.

3. Add a Webservice account

  1. Go to the Webservice channels section.
  2. Click Add a Webservice account.
  3. In the window that opens, select REST in the Type field.
  4. Give the account a recognisable name, for example Shyfter Dimona.

Other channels may already be configured for your company. You can ignore them: they are not part of this procedure.

4. Select both Dimona permissions

In the secured permissions, tick the following two permissions:

  • Perform Dimona declarations
  • Consult the Dimona declaration

Click Validate in the permissions window to confirm your selection.

About "Check In And Out @ Work": this permission relates to another service. Only tick it if that feature is part of your integration.

5. Add the new certificate

  1. In Certificate management, select the new Shyfter certificate that was sent to you.
  2. Enter a name for this certificate, for example Shyfter certificate.
  3. Click Validate to save the account and its certificate.

The account then appears in the list of Webservice accounts.

6. Check the saved information

Open the account details with the eye icon.

First check that both Dimona permissions are properly selected, then review the certificate information:

  • Its name and the associated file.
  • The company concerned.
  • The certificate provider.
  • The expiry date, which must be the one of the new certificate.

7. Send the Client ID to Shyfter

In the account details, look for the Client ID field.

  1. Copy your account's Client ID.
  2. Send it to your Customer Success Manager at Shyfter.

Together with the certificate, this identifier is what allows Shyfter to communicate with the social security. Without it, the exchanges cannot be put into service.

8. Finalise with the Shyfter technical team

Registering the certificate in Chaman is not enough: the Shyfter technical team still has to put the new certificate into service in the integration, then check that the Dimona exchanges work properly.

Keep your old certificate during that check. Wait for our teams to confirm before removing it. This verification is quick.

What to remember for the renewal

Since the certificate is renewed every three years, you will go through this procedure again. The key points:

  • Add the new certificate sent by Shyfter.
  • Select both Dimona permissions.
  • Send your Client ID to your Customer Success Manager.
  • Keep the old certificate until the new one is validated by the technical team.
