Follow your candidates on the stages board
Move a card, read what it shows, and understand the warnings before a move.
The Team → Recruitment → Stages screen shows your candidates in columns, one column per stage, like a physical board.
Choose the job
The Job selector at the top picks the advert on display. Select a specific job in order to be able to drag the cards: that is what the message "Select a job to drag candidates between stages" reminds you of.
What a card shows
- the candidate's name and the job applied for;
- how long they have been waiting in their stage ("In stage...") and how long ago they applied;
- the state of their interview or of their trial: proposed, waiting for confirmation, confirmed by the candidate, cancelled, needs a new date, or arranged outside Shyfter.
A click on the card opens the candidate record on the side, without leaving the board.
Move a candidate
Drag the card from one column to another. Depending on the column it lands in, Shyfter follows on:
- to an interview stage: the scheduling window opens. It is sending the proposal that moves the card, so closing the window leaves everything as it was.
- to a trial stage: the trial proposal opens, on the same principle.
- to a Hired stage: the creation of the Shyfter account opens.
- to a Rejected stage: the rejection window opens, with the reason and the email to the candidate.
- to a standard stage: a simple confirmation.
The warnings
The board protects you from two missteps:
- Moving someone back always asks for confirmation: "Move Sarah back to the Shortlist stage?"
- Moving someone who has an interview or a trial planned warns you what that implies, in so many words: "The interview on 12/09 at 14:00 will be cancelled and Sarah will receive a cancellation email."
So before you confirm, you see the email the candidate is going to receive.
Take a card off the board
From the record of a rejected candidate, Remove from the pipeline takes the card out of the Rejected column. The application is not lost: it stays available through the Archived filter of the candidate list, and the person stays in your talent pool if they had consented to it.
