Edit, close or delete a job offer
The difference between closing and deleting, and what happens to the applications already received.
An advert has a life: it gets corrected, it closes when the role is filled, and it is erased when it was created by mistake. These three actions do not have the same consequences for your applications.
Edit a job
Open the job from Team → Recruitment → Job offers, then click Edit job. You find the three creation steps again, pre-filled. Your changes are visible on the public page as soon as you save.
A job that is already published can be edited: it stays published, and its link and its QR code do not change.
Close a job
Close is what you want to do in nearly every case: the role is filled, or you are no longer looking.
On the job record, click Close. Shyfter asks you to confirm: "Close this job? It will no longer accept applications."
What happens next:
- the job moves to the Closed status and disappears from your public company page;
- its public link does not show an error: the candidate who opens it reads "This position has closed" and is shown your other open jobs;
- the applications already received stay intact, in your stages as well as in your candidate list.
Delete a job
Delete erases the job. On the record, click Delete, then confirm.
Keep deletion for jobs created by mistake or for drafts you no longer want. For a role that was genuinely filled, close it instead: that way you keep the history and your statistics stay accurate.
Handle several jobs at once
From the Job offers list, tick several rows to bring up the bulk actions Publish, Close and Delete. Handy at the end of a season, to close all the adverts of one department in one go.
The list is filtered by Status (Draft, Published, Closed, Archived), by Contract and by Work mode, and searched by title.
