User statuses: creating and assigning

Classify your employees by profile (employee, student, extra...) to drive the calculation of worked hours, costs and counters.

Why create user statuses

A user status represents a worker profile: Employee, Student, Manager, Flexi, Extra, etc. It is a central pivot of Shyfter: it determines an employee's cost, how their worked hours are calculated, the counters accessible to them, and it serves as the target of HR rules for exports to the social secretariat.

Creating a status

Go to Settings ⚙️ → General → User statuses, then click New. The creation panel offers the following fields:

  • Name (mandatory): the status's label (for example Employee, Student).
  • Gross cost: the gross hourly cost associated with this status.
  • Employer cost coefficient: the coefficient applied to the gross cost to estimate the employer cost.
  • Worker type: the worker type linked to the status, used for calculations and declarations.
  • Default contract template: the contract template suggested automatically for employees with this status.
  • Working time calculation method: based on planned hours or clocked hours.
  • Export to the social secretariat: check this so that the worked hours of this status are included in the exports.
  • Enable overtime: enables the overtime counter for this status.
  • Enable absence counter: enables tracking of absence counters. Once checked, you can choose the linked additional counters.
  • Color: the identification color of the status.

If a social secretariat connector is enabled on your account (for example AbsoluteYOU), an additional field lets you map this status to a worker type on the social secretariat side.

Click Save to save (or Cancel to discard).

Assigning a status to employees

From the list of statuses, use the Assign action next to a status, then select the relevant employees. You can also set the status directly in an employee's profile, under Profile → Contractual data.

An employee without a status is not included in the worked-hours exports. Check this every time you add an employee.
