How to add an employee?
The ways to add an employee: manual entry, email invitation, list import, or public registration form.
Choose your method
Depending on whether you have all the information at hand or prefer to let the person fill in their own details, Shyfter offers several ways to add an employee. From Team → Users, the Create a user button opens an "Add an employee" panel organized into three tabs: Manual, Emails and Upload. On top of that, there is the public registration form, managed in the settings.
Manual tab: enter everything yourself
This is the most direct method when you have the information. The Manual tab offers the following fields:
- Last name
- First name
- Phone
- Sections: select one or more sections to attach the employee to.
- Status: the user status (for example Employee, Student).
- Skills: select one or more skills of the employee.
Click Save: the profile is immediately active in your list.
Emails tab: invite by email
If you know the email address but not the rest, the Emails tab sends the person an individual registration form to complete themselves. Invitations awaiting a response appear in Team → Pending registrations, where you can resend them. The invitation disappears once the form is completed.
Upload tab: import a list
To onboard several people at once, the Upload tab lets you import a file containing the email addresses. Each person automatically receives an individual registration form to complete, and also appears in Team → Pending registrations until they respond.
The public registration form
Beyond the creation panel, you can enable a public registration form: a unique link to share (email, message) that your future employees fill in themselves. The link is found in Settings ⚙️ → General → Registration form. People who have completed the form land in Team → Pending employees (users awaiting validation), where you review their information then validate the profile. You can validate several registrations at once.
