Cyclical schedule templates
For an employee with a regular rhythm, create a schedule template and let Shyfter reproduce it automatically week after week.
Many employees work according to a stable pattern: the same shifts, the same days, every week or according to a multi-week cycle. The schedule template avoids re-entering these shifts for each schedule. You build the type week or weeks once, then Shyfter applies them over the period of your choice.
This feature is found in the employee's profile, tab Profile → Schedule templates. It depends on a dedicated module: if the tab does not appear, it means it is not enabled on the account.
Creating a template
- Open the employee's profile and go to Profile → Schedule templates.
- Click Add a schedule template.
- Give the template a name (for example "Standard week" or "2-week cycle"), then create it.
The template then opens on an empty weekly grid, day by day, on which you will place the shifts.
Building the type week
In the template detail, add the shifts as in the schedule: for each day, you define the hours, the section, the skill and the break. The week's total hours are displayed at the bottom to help you respect the employee's contract. You can edit or delete a shift at any time.
If the employee's rhythm spans several weeks (for example a morning week and then an evening week), add the successive weeks within the same template: Shyfter will then repeat them in order.
Applying the template over a period
Once the template is ready, you apply it to the employee's schedule:
- Indicate a start date.
- Indicate an end date if applicable. Without an end date, the template keeps applying.
- Choose the generation mode:
- Manual: the shifts are only created when you decide.
- Automatic: Shyfter generates the shifts in advance, with no intervention on your part.
- Choose whether the generated shifts should be automatically approved (yes or no). Approved, they are directly taken into account in the schedule.
When you switch a template to automatic generation, Shyfter offers to launch the first generation immediately or to wait until the following night.
If several templates overlap over the same period, Shyfter warns you: only one rhythm can apply at a time to avoid duplicate shifts. To remove a template from a period, use the delete icon next to the period concerned.
