Enabling notifications on Shyfter Staff
Authorise the mobile app's notifications to be alerted about a new schedule, an approved leave or a contract to sign.
Why enable notifications
Notifications are the main channel of information between the company and the collaborator on mobile. They alert in particular when a new schedule is available, when a leave request has been approved or refused, or when a new contract is ready to sign. Without them, the collaborator risks missing important information.
Authorising notifications on first launch
On the first login to Shyfter Staff, the app asks for permission to send notifications. Simply accept at that point for everything to be set up. This is the simplest step, and it is strongly recommended to accept it.
Enabling notifications later
If the permission was refused at startup, it can be re-enabled from the phone's settings:
On iPhone, open Settings → Notifications → Shyfter Staff and turn on Allow notifications. On Android, open Settings → Apps → Shyfter Staff → Notifications and enable notifications.
Once the permission is granted at system level, the app can again send its alerts.
The choice of the events that trigger an alert (new schedule, leave, contract, etc.) is set separately in the collaborator's notification preferences. The permission described here is the essential step for the phone to technically accept displaying these alerts.
