Public holidays
Shyfter automatically integrates the Belgian legal public holidays. You can adjust this list to suit your needs: add sector holidays, bridge days, or exceptional closures specific to your establishment.
Go to Settings ⚙️ → HR → Public holidays.
The public holidays configured here are used in several places:
- In the schedule, public holidays are highlighted to draw your attention when building the schedule.
- In the HR rules, you can create specific rules that apply only on public holidays (e.g. public holiday supplement).
- In the absence counters, public holidays are counted correctly according to your settings.
General leave settings
Still in Settings ⚙️ → HR → Settings, you configure:
- Days allowed for leave requests: limit the days of the week on which your employees can request leave (e.g. forbid leave at the weekend).
- Leave day calculation: in working days, business days, or calendar days according to your collective agreement.
- Leave approval: automatic or manual (with a validation hierarchy if you use multi-level approval management).
The rules applicable to public holidays (supplement, compensatory rest) are configured in Settings ⚙️ → HR → HR rules. The public holiday configuration here determines which days are recognised as holidays by these rules.
