Lightspeed: installation guide

Connect your Lightspeed POS to Shyfter so your turnover flows in automatically every day, with no manual entry.

This integration links your Lightspeed POS to Shyfter: every night, Lightspeed emails your daily report (the "day report"), and Shyfter reads it automatically to feed your turnover into your Insights. No technical skills required, count about 5 minutes.

What this integration is for

  • You no longer copy your figures by hand.
  • The previous day's turnover appears in Shyfter every morning.
  • You can compare your turnover to your worked hours, your schedules and your costs.

When to use it

It is available for both Series L and Series K Lightspeed POS systems.

Use this email-based integration when your Lightspeed setup does not offer a direct (API) connection. If you have a Lightspeed API integration, use that one instead. If in doubt, contact Shyfter support, which will tell you the right option for your POS.

How it works, in 3 steps

  1. Lightspeed emails its daily report.
  2. You tell Lightspeed to send that report to a dedicated address provided by Shyfter.
  3. Shyfter receives the report, extracts the turnover and displays it in your Insights.

Step 1: install the integration in Shyfter

  1. Go to Settings ⚙️ → Integrations.
  2. Find the Lightspeed (email export) card and open it.
  3. Click Install.

Once installed, the card shows the Installed status.

Step 2: get your dedicated email address

  1. Open the Lightspeed (email export) integration and click Configure.
  2. Shyfter shows your import email addresses, organized by establishment:
    • a main address (for the establishment total);
    • one address per section if you track turnover by point of sale (bar, dining room, terrace...).
  3. Click the copy icon next to the address you want.

The address is unique to your establishment. Do not share it outside the Lightspeed setup.

You can retrieve these addresses at any time: just reopen the integration in Settings ⚙️ → Integrations and click Configure. The addresses (main and per section) are always shown there, ready to be copied.

Which address should I choose?

  • The establishment's total turnover: use the main address.
  • The breakdown by point of sale: use the section addresses (one per section).

Step 3: set up sending on the Lightspeed side

This step happens in your Lightspeed interface:

  1. Open the configuration of the daily report (day report) sent by email.
  2. Add the dedicated address copied in step 2 as a recipient of the report (the main address for the total, or a per-section address if you manage turnover by point of sale).
  3. Save.

From the following night, the report is sent automatically and Shyfter analyzes it on its own. If you manage several sections, add the matching address to each section report.

Check that everything works

Back on the integration's Configure page, a banner shows the status of the flow:

  • Green: "Last report received on ..." : everything works, reports are coming in.
  • Orange: "No report received yet" : no report has arrived yet, check step 3 on the Lightspeed side.

The first report only arrives after the next day's closing: it is normal to see the orange banner right after setup. Let one night pass. Once the first report is received, your turnover appears in your Insights.

Frequently asked questions

How long before my turnover appears? The previous day's report is analyzed every night, so you see your turnover the next morning.

I manage several establishments. Each establishment has its own main address: set up each establishment's Lightspeed report to send to the matching address.

I manage several points of sale (bar, dining room, terrace). Use the section addresses: one address per section, entered in the matching Lightspeed report.

The banner stays orange after several days. Check in Lightspeed that the dedicated address is correctly saved as a recipient of the daily report, with no typo. If the problem persists, contact support.

The displayed turnover does not exactly match Lightspeed. Some gaps come from the counting mode (excluding or including VAT) or from the day's closing. Contact support to check your setup.

Is it paid? No, this integration is free.

How do I disable the integration? Open the integration in Shyfter and click Uninstall. Also remember to remove the dedicated address from the report recipients on the Lightspeed side.
