The Shyfter API (also called Open API) lets you connect your own tools to your Shyfter data: retrieve your schedules, your clockings, your employees or your turnover, and even act on them from a third-party software. It is the gateway for custom integrations, when a ready-to-use connector does not exist.

What the API is for

The API is aimed at companies that want Shyfter to talk to their own systems: an ERP, an internal tool, an in-house dashboard, a business application. In practice, it lets you, for example:

  • synchronise your employees between Shyfter and another tool;
  • push your schedules and your clockings to your payroll or reporting system;
  • feed in your turnover to analyse it alongside your worked hours;
  • automate recurring actions without manual input.

It is also ideal for connecting Shyfter to AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini: your schedule, clocking and HR data then become queryable in natural language, to get answers or trigger actions without going through the application.

It is designed for your technical teams or your integrators. No coding knowledge is required to enable it, but the data is then used from your own tools.

A Pro plan feature

The Shyfter API is available only in the Pro plan. If you do not see the option in your integrations, check your subscription plan or contact your account manager to move to the Pro plan.

Enable the API

Activation takes just a few seconds from your settings:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙️ → Integrations → Productivity.
  2. Find the Shyfter API card and open it.
  3. Click Install to enable access.

Once the API is enabled, the administrator receives an invitation email to sign up on the Open API platform. It is from this platform that you then manage access, create your tokens and view the endpoint documentation.

After activation, everything happens on the Open API platform. The articles in the Open API category explain how to access it, invite members, create your tokens and discover what the API can do.
