Changing an employee's password or PIN code

As an administrator, you can reset the password and change the PIN code of your employees from their profile.

Password and PIN code: two different accesses

  • The password lets an employee log in to the Shyfter Staff app on a smartphone or via the web.
  • The PIN code (4 digits) is used to clock in on the Shyfter POS tablet.

Both of these credentials can be changed by an account administrator from the employee's profile.

Changing the password

In principle, your employees can reset their password themselves by clicking Forgot password when logging in to Shyfter Staff. If that is not possible, you can do it on their behalf.

  1. Go to Team → Users and open the employee's profile.
  2. In the Profile → Profile data tab, locate the photo or avatar bubble on the right of the screen.
  3. Click the padlock icon to access the password change.
  4. Enter and confirm the new password, then save.

Changing the PIN code

Unlike the password, the PIN code cannot be changed by the employee themselves: it is the administrator who handles it.

  1. Go to Team → Users and open the employee's profile.
  2. In the Profile → Profile data tab, below the avatar, you see the current PIN code.
  3. Click the small icon next to the PIN code.
  4. Enter the new code and save.

The PIN code is also visible here if an employee has forgotten it and contacts you to retrieve it.
