Clocking on the Shyfter POS tablet
Clock in with your PIN code, manage breaks and understand the photo capture during clocking.
Clocking in
Once the tablet is initialised, the app displays the current time in standby. To clock:
- Touch anywhere on the screen to wake up the app.
- A new screen appears, with the list of staff on the left and a number pad on the right.
- Select your name in the list on the left.
- Enter your personal PIN code on the number pad.
The clocking is recorded: arrival (check-in) or departure (check-out) depending on your situation. The tablet then automatically returns to the home screen, ready for the next employee.
Managing breaks
Depending on the account configuration, the tablet also lets you clock the start and end of a break, on the same principle: selecting the name, entering the PIN code, then choosing the action offered on the screen.
Photo capture during clocking
Shyfter POS can take a photo of the employee at the moment of clocking, to reinforce reliability and prevent one person from clocking in place of another. Two modes exist, to set in Settings ⚙️ → Time clock → Shyfter POS:
- Systematic photo: a photo is taken at every clocking. The option is enabled/disabled via Automatically take a photo during clockings.
- Random photo: a photo is only taken for about 10% of clockings. This mode reinforces control without being intrusive. It is particularly recommended in France, where systematic photo capture can raise questions of confidentiality and regulation.
To completely disable photo capture, go to Settings ⚙️ → Time clock → Shyfter POS and disable the option Automatically take a photo during clockings.
A user does not appear in the list
If an active employee does not appear in the tablet's list, it is most often a synchronisation problem. Check from the web platform that the employee is indeed active, authorised to clock on this app, and attached to the right establishment, then refresh the tablet.
