Managing breaks in clockings
Add, edit or remove a break on an existing clocking from the timesheet control screen.
Breaks are an integral part of working time: they must appear correctly in clockings so that the calculated hours are accurate. If a break is missing, incorrect or needs to be removed, you can manage it directly from the timesheet control screen.
Why it matters
A poorly recorded break distorts the calculation of hours actually worked. This can lead to errors in the timesheets and, ultimately, in the data sent to payroll. It is best to correct breaks as soon as an anomaly is spotted.
Accessing break management
Go to Reports → Timesheet control.
Click on the row of the clocking concerned (blue or red row). The detail panel opens on the right of the screen.
In this panel, you will find a Breaks section that lists all the breaks recorded for this clocking.
Editing or deleting an existing break
In the Breaks section, click on the break to correct. Edit the start and end times, then save. To delete the break, click the delete icon next to the break concerned.
Adding a new break
Still in the Breaks section, click the button to add a break. Enter the start and end times of the break, then save.
Break changes are taken into account immediately in the calculation of the worked hours shown on the clocking row.
