Publishing and unpublishing shifts
Make slots visible to your employees on the mobile app, or remove them if needed before correcting them.
In Shyfter, a created shift is not automatically visible to your employee. It is first in draft mode, shown by dotted lines around the slot. You decide when the schedule is ready to be communicated.
Publishing is the act that makes the shifts accessible on the Shyfter Staff app. As long as a shift is not published, your employees do not see it.
Publishing one or more shifts
Go to Schedules → Schedule management.
To publish a single shift: click the dotted shift, then click the Publish 1 shift(s) button that appears at the top right.
To publish several shifts at the same time:
- Select the shifts to publish by clicking them while holding Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac), or use More → Select all shifts to select everything.
- Click the green Publish X shift(s) button at the top right.
Once published, the shifts lose their dotted lines and display in full colour. Your employees receive a notification on their app and can see their schedule.
Why don't my employees see their schedule?
If your employees do not see their shifts on Shyfter Staff, the most frequent cause is simple: the shifts have not yet been published. Check that they appear in full colour (and not in dotted lines) in your schedule.
Unpublishing shifts
It can happen that a published schedule must be corrected in depth. Rather than modifying shifts already visible to your teams, you can unpublish them, adjust them, then republish them.
Select the published shifts concerned, then use the unpublish option offered in the schedule's action bar. The shifts go back to dotted lines and your employees no longer see them temporarily on their app, while you make your corrections.
Unpublishing a shift can be a source of confusion for your teams if they have already seen their schedule. Remember to inform them of an upcoming change before unpublishing, and republish quickly after correction.
