Shyfter Talk: the internal messaging

The messaging built into Shyfter: one-to-one or group conversations, images, voice messages and files. Like WhatsApp, but internal to the company.

Coordinating a team involves a lot of communication: confirming a replacement, asking a question, sharing an instruction or a photo. Shyfter Talk centralises these exchanges directly in the platform, right where your schedules and clockings already are. In spirit, it's a modern WhatsApp-style messaging tool, but internal to Shyfter and tied to the company. You access it via Conversations in the menu.

What you can do

  • Chat one-to-one or in a group: open a one-to-one conversation with an employee, or a group conversation. You can add and remove members from a conversation over time.
  • Send text and emojis: an emoji picker is built into the input area.
  • Share images: photos sent are displayed directly in the conversation, as a preview.
  • Attach files: documents and attachments are shared in the conversation, and a Files tab gathers everything that has been exchanged so you can find it easily.
  • Send voice messages: record a voice note directly from the messaging; it plays back with a built-in audio player.
  • See who's typing: a typing indicator signals when the person you're talking to is replying.

Send a message

  1. Click Conversations in the menu.
  2. Open an existing conversation, or create a new one and choose the member(s).
  3. Type your message (add an emoji, an image, a file or a voice note if needed) and send.

Enable or disable the messaging

Administrators can enable or disable Shyfter Talk. The setting is done at account level (for example via the Enable Shyfter Talk option in the HR settings on the application side): when disabled, the messaging is hidden for everyone.

Like WhatsApp, but without the drawbacks

The benefit of internal messaging is that it stays professional and well-framed, unlike a personal WhatsApp group:

  • Respect for privacy: employees communicate via their Shyfter account, without sharing their personal phone number. Private contact details are not exposed to colleagues.
  • Right to disconnect: exchanges are tied to the work tool. Outside their hours, employees are not solicited on their personal messaging, and the boundary between professional and private life stays clear.
  • A controlled framework: conversations belong to the company and stay in Shyfter, rather than scattered across external tools.

Shyfter Talk is internal professional messaging: exchanges are tied to your company account.
