Creating a recurring shift
Enter the slots that repeat week after week for the same employee just once.
Some employees have stable schedules: they always work Monday from 9am to 5pm, or every Tuesday and Thursday. Recreating them manually every week is tedious. The recurring shift feature lets you enter them once and see them appear automatically over several weeks.
It is the ideal tool for fixed contracts and predictable cyclical schedules.
How to create a recurring shift
Go to Schedules → Schedule management.
As for a classic shift, hover over the box of the employee concerned and click + Add a shift.
In the side panel, fill in all the usual information (section, user, skills, hours, breaks), then scroll to the Recurrence section and click Add a recurrence.
You then define the repetition: the frequency (for example every week), the days concerned if the shift comes back several times per week, and the period over which the recurrence applies.
Click Create shift. Shyfter automatically generates all the shifts of the series over the corresponding weeks.
Editing or deleting a recurring shift
When you click a shift that is part of a recurring series, Shyfter asks whether you want to edit:
- This shift only: only the selected occurrence is modified.
- This shift and the following ones: the change applies from this date.
- All the shifts of the series: the whole recurrence is updated.
The same logic applies to deletion.
If an employee changes their schedule mid-contract, edit only from the date of the change so as not to alter the past history.
