Move a shift with drag and drop

Adjust your schedule by dragging a shift from one employee to another or from one day to another, without opening a form.

Drag and drop is the fastest way to reorganise a schedule. You grab a shift, drag it to the cell you want, and release. The shift is moved while keeping all its information.

It is especially handy for last-minute adjustments: an absent employee, a slot to reassign, a day to swap.

How to move a shift

Go to Schedules → Schedule management.

Click a shift and hold down the mouse button. The shift becomes "grabbed": you can drag it.

Move it to the target cell (another employee, another day, or both) and release.

The shift is moved instantly. The slot's information (hours, section, skill, comment) is kept.

What you can do with drag and drop

  • Change the day: move a shift from Monday to Tuesday for the same employee.
  • Change the employee: transfer the shift from one employee to another on the same day.
  • Combine both: move to another employee and another day in a single action.

Watch out for published shifts

If the shift you move was already published, moving it automatically unpublishes it (it goes back to dotted lines). Remember to republish once you have reorganised your schedule, so that your employees see the changes on their app.

Drag and drop works in the week view. For more complex reorganisations, combined with multiple selection and bulk editing, you can cover the vast majority of scheduling situations.
