Delete shifts

Remove one or more slots from the schedule, with the option to turn them into free shifts before deletion.

Deleting shifts is a common action when managing a schedule: cancelling a slot, reorganising a team, clearing a week to start from scratch. Shyfter gives you several ways to do this depending on the scale of the deletion.

Delete a shift with a right-click

This is the fastest way to remove one or a few slots.

Go to Schedules → Schedule management. Right-click the shift to delete and select Delete. Confirm if a confirmation is requested.

Delete several selected shifts

  1. Select the shifts to delete by clicking them while holding Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac).
  2. Right-click one of the selected shifts and choose Delete the X shifts, or use the More → Delete shift(s) menu.

Delete all shifts in a week

To wipe the slate clean for an entire week:

  1. Click More in the top right of the schedule.
  2. Select Select all shifts.
  3. Click Delete shift(s).

Before the final deletion, Shyfter offers to convert the shifts into free shifts if the Free shifts module is enabled on your account. This is useful if you want to keep the slots but remove the assignments (so your team members can apply for them).

Delete unavailabilities in bulk

If you have added several unavailabilities by mistake or want to clear them, go to Schedules → Schedule management, select the relevant unavailabilities and delete them using the right-click menu or the More button.

Deleting a published shift does not automatically trigger a notification to the team member. If you cancel a confirmed shift, remember to inform your team by message or via the app's notification feature.
